I'm bunked up with a fantastic memoir today, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. I sort of wanted to do a post about it, but then I'd have to stop reading it long enough to compose something beyond *FLAIL!!!11!*
It is nice to see you in these parts again, Cham! <3
Little, Big is a wonderful book, and deservedly a classic. I really recommend it!
Thanks for mentioning Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, it sounds really intriguing... and if you do write a review (or even just a flail!!1!) I would love to read it :-)
One of my absolute all time favourites, though I will never be going down the ebook route! Did so want the anniversary illustrated edition but just couldn't justify the price. Must re-read 'Aegypt' too sometime but that really does entail such slow and careful concentration that it tends to take up half a year in the process!
Ohhh, that anniversary edition! I was hugely tempted to bite the bullet and ordered it as a birthday gift for the husband, but like you I found the cost prohibitive. It does sound lovely, though, and maybe someday...
(I've owned endless copies of Little, Big and gifted virtually all of them to friends, so one advantage of the e-book is that I'll get to keep it ;-) But I know what you [probably] mean about e-books... I still love proper paper books, too <333 )
ETA: and word word word about Aegypt, which I also love, but as you say takes more effort ;-)
